Cedyna was born out of the merger of these three companies in 2009. To meet the various wants and needs of our customers, we offer multiple payment solutions that amalgamate and develop the strengths and know-how from the three companies.

And, as a core company in the consumer financing sector within the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, we can fully utilize the Group's creditworthiness, brand and management resources to further strengthen our operational capabilities and expand our market presence. We aim to be the No. 1 credit card organization in Japan.

This forms what we call our Customer Value Chain (CVC).

To bring this belief into reality, Cedyna has focused from an early stage on the value of marketing, and has built up its strengths in database marketing. This belief of ours, along with data-mining techniques and know-how spanning over ten years, our customer-oriented way of thinking and the activation of on-site staff, has brought about our unique business and operational style.
Database marketing
Database marking is a sophisticated means of attracting custom by establishing close links with customers through the use of databases.

Cedyna introduced the means to collect, manage and analyze a vast amount of data - including information on cardholder attributes and card usage habits - at an early stage and, in order to improve the accuracy of the marketing and the processing capabilities, we have built up test marketing initiatives; by verifying the effectiveness of our marketing processes within a set period of time we are turning out success stories for the expansion of revenues and developing effective promotions.

Credit card business

Proposing a credit card business based on a brand-new concept where affiliated partners, cardholders and Cedyna truly are united as a trinity

We believe that a credit card is not simply a tool for settlement, but also a marketing tool that builds a win-win relationship between three parties: our cardholders, our affiliated partners and Cedyna.

We have fully utilized our strengths in database marketing so that we can offer the products and services each of our individual cardholders needs, when they need it. At the same time, we analyze a vast amount of data on the purchasing behaviors and attributes of over 22 million cardholders and use this to propose the most relevant sales strategies and methods to our affiliated partners. Using such techniques, we aim to build a strong relationship with our affiliated partners and expand card transaction volumes.

Credit Card Instant Issuance System

"It takes several weeks from application to issue a credit card": until recently, this had been common knowledge.
We are forerunners in the industry - with our Card Instant Issuance initiative, we have made it possible to shop at the very place you apply for a card, with issuance in as little as 15 minutes from application to card issuance. We deliver a card right to the customer, just when they need it for shopping.

Internet business

Now in what could be called an internet-led society, we too have developed a variety of internet services to improve convenience for our customers, including a dedicated website and online shopping mall and online statements.

In July 2011, we opened CedyNavi, our unique website providing shopping information to our cardholders. Along with upgrading our services in the internet business arena, we also aim to further expand our e-commerce transaction volumes.

Shopping Credit

Secure and convenient credit in all manner of everyday scenarios - department stores, TV shopping, internet shopping, schooling and medical bills - this is Cedyna's shopping credit. We cater to the varied needs of our customers and affiliated stores, having established the mechanisms to complete applications and credit screenings online and having set up application schemes using digital pen technology.

Home Improvement Loan

We give our customers the financial support they need to realize their ideal home improvements, from home extensions to refurbishing kitchens and bathrooms. The cost of home improvement can be high, but even that renovation work you were about to give up on due to budgetary constraints can be affordable with a Cedyna Home Improvement Loan. We cater to all repayment needs, offering both partial and full early repayment and other repayment plans.

Automobile Loan

Cedyna's automobile loans allow customers to purchase new cars, used cars and motorcycles and also help pay for any car maintenance expenses resulting from car safety inspections.
Cedyna's auto loans offer a variety of services catering to customers' payment needs with simplified processes. With Cedyna's versatile products, our affiliated partners will enjoy increased opportunities and advantages from selling cars, with reduced risk.
We aim to provide ever more satisfying automobile loans for our customers to have a comfortable automotive lifestyle, and will strive to meet the needs of our customers and affiliated partners.

Student loan

The cost of school fees is going up, with reports of one third of an annual income going towards education. We reduce the financial burden on parents and guardians by paying the fees on their behalf, helping to increase and maintain schooling opportunities. We have lined up a range of repayment plans to suit the customer, including deferred repayment plans where only interest fees are repaid whilst the student is at school, and short- and long-term plans.
Cedyna tuition credit was relaunched in March 2011 under the product name "Cedyna Student Loans". Forging business alliances between school and Cedyna, we aim to provide a more convenient and easy-to-use service.

Solution business

We have developed two types of business offering - collection outsourcing and factoring - to help solve the various issues around money collection and payment.

Collection outsourcing

Rent, newspaper subscriptions, membership dues, phone and internet bills, tuition fees and more - these are just some of the many regular payments we need to make in our everyday lives. With our collection outsourcing services, we make these payments simpler for the customer, and reduce the time and cost involved in collecting money and administering payments for our business customers.

We have built up Japan's largest network of financial institutions and have business alliances with all the major convenience stores, and we make use of these to help solve all kinds of issues surrounding money collection and payment.

Factoring

We offer a factoring service whereby we make payment to our business customers or buy out accounts receivable or products sold, and then handle the entire collection process from invoices to the business customer's counterparties, to demands for payment.
Within our factoring services, we offer consumer factoring aimed at businesses who deal with individual consumers, and business credit aimed at businesses dealing with corporate entities.
