Message from the President

As a member of the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, our goal at Cedyna is to be a comprehensive payment finance company offering secure and convenient payment methods to individual consumers.

Allow me first to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support.

 

In April 2019, Cedyna will celebrate its tenth anniversary. It was established in April 2009 through the consolidation of OMC Card, Inc., Central Finance Co., Ltd., and QUOQ Inc., and it has since expanded its fields of business as a provider of comprehensive settlement solutions engaged mainly in the businesses of credit cards, installment credit, and financing solutions. We offer our sincere thanks to our business partners, affiliated merchants and individual customers who have used our products and services.

 

The finacial industry in Japan is adapting to the rapid transition to a cashless society, which is being driven by the introduction of new financial services based on information technology, such as “Fintech” and “mobile communications”. This momentum is likely to accelerate as Japan prepares to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

 

The payment business is expected to change and expand, supported by regulatory changes, such as revisions of the Installment Sales Act, the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and the Banking Act. Given these changes in our business environment and social / regulatory requirements, Cedyna is expanding newer payment services, such as contactless payments and prepaid cards, in addition to its traditional services such as credit cards and installment credit, while promoting digital services by renewing our website channels. We are also strengthening our security practices so that our customers can remain confident in the safety of our products and services.

 

From officers to employees, all of us at Cedyna, the core company in the payment business strategy of the Retail Business Unit of SMBC Group, are committed to delivering even higher levels of customer satisfaction and financial security by making maximum use of SMBC Group’s customer trust, brand strength, and extensive business resources. In so doing, our goal is to be always on hand for our individual customers, facilitating their every lifestyle choice, while working closely with our business partners and affiliated merchants to provide them with optimal payment solutions.
